The Oberrenders

Updated: May 21, 2020

Here is the tree for the Oberrenders, as far as I have researched to date.

Johann Nicholaus Oberrender was born 20 October 1806 in Ebersdorf bei Coburg, Bavaria, Germany. He was a maker of leather breeches and gloves. He married Anna Margaretha Vollrath on 20 April 1829 (although the date of the marriage is also given as November 1828). They lived in Ebersdorf for the next 11 years and conducted a tailoring business with Johann's father, Peter.

On 10 May 1840, Johann, Anna Margaretha, and 5 children emigrated to the United States via Hamburg. They spent 65 days crossing the Atlantic Ocean. After their arrival, they settled in Conyngham, Sugarloaf Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

Johann and Anna Margaretha had a total of 11 children, among them were John Stephen, Margaret, Johann Nicholas, Paul, Edward, Eva Dorothea, Christiana, and Wilhelmina.
